Michael Curtis is from Toronto, where he has performed in a
number of Medieval and Renaissance plays with the Poculi
Ludique Societas and played the title roles in Adam Nashman and Stan Rogal’s "Orpheus" and Gilbert &Sullivan’s "The Sorcerer". In Philadelphia he has appeared in plays by Dan West at the Brick Playhouse ("Zugzwang" and "A Million
Monkeys"), Ionesco’s "Rhinoceros" for Theatre Exile, and
with the REV Company of NYC in "The Witch of Edmonton". His greatest interest in theatre is in directing, and he has
directed productions of Sam Shepard’s plays "Fool For Love" and "Forensic and the Navigators", Willson’s "The Music Man", Chekhov’s "The Bear", Ringwood’s "Still Stands the House", A Yorkshire Tragedy (anon., 1605), and new works by Bob LeRoy ("Testes Descending On the Eraser’s Edge" and "Fred’s Father",) Sarah Tolmie ("Retail"), and Mark Cofta ("Silent Since Saturn"). He has played lead or featured roles in 12 independent films and video roductions.
